We are happy to inform you that Recorder Lessons are now being offered. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to learn to play the recorder from the beginning or to build on their current level. Learning the correct technique to play the recorder is essential in enabling pupils to produce a lovely sound and play technically more difficult pieces as they progress. Your child will also learn how to read musical notation; a skill which is transferable to other musical instruments in the future.
Recorder lessons are taught in small groups (4 pupils) and arranged by ability. As your child progresses, they may change groups to ensure they are always learning at their full potential.
Lessons will run during school time, on Friday afternoons. Recorder lessons cost £5.00 for a 20-minute lesson. If you wish for your child to have lessons you will be charged for the full term (12 weeks).
Lessons are open to all pupils from Year 2 up to Year 6 and will be taught by Sharon McGuire BA PGCE (QTS).
Pupils who wish to have lessons will be required to purchase a recorder and have their own book to practise from.
If you wish to register your child for Recorder lessons, please email Sharon McGuire with your child’s name, year group, class and your child’s recorder ability, if not a beginner.
Please note spaces are limited, so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
